Coed Flag Football

Welcome back to another exciting school year!! We've had a lot of interest in our sports and we couldn't be more excited for them to start! Coed Flag Football starts September 12th and the deadline for registration is September 7th. There is also a Captains meeting that each captain of each team must attend on September 7th at 5:00pm in Student Activity Center classroom Rm. 115. If the captain cannot come, please send someone else from your team. This meeting helps so that everyone is on the same page.

Here are a couple questions that we have gotten asked recently that will help out those who are a little less familiar with how Intramurals work...

1. How do I play?

To play, you first must be a current student, faculty, or staff member at Dixie and have a current DixieOne card. Coed Flag Football is made up of 8 people, 4 girls and 4 guys. You can have more than that on a team but only 4 girls, 4 guys are allowed on the field at the same time. You may also have more girls than guys on a team but you cannot have more guys than girls. If you don't have enough players for your team, you can stop by the Intramural Office and and check out our free agents!

2. What is a free agent?

A free agent is someone who wants to play but doesn't have a team. If you want to be a free agent, you can come into the office and fill out a form. If a team is needing one or more players to make a team, you can also recruit a free agent to play on your team.

3. If i'm married and i'm a student, can my spouse play if he/she isn't a student?

Yes! As long as you are a current student, your spouse can play but only on a coed team. Both spouses must play together on the same team. If he/she wants to play on a team with only guys or girls they will not be allowed to play.

4. What exactly is Intramurals?

Intramural activities are a fun way to get involved on campus. Compete against other students in a variety of sports and activities including flag football, basketball, softball, sand volleyball, soccer, pool, ping pong, video games and more. Intramurals is a great way to meet new people, stay active and have fun while attending Dixie State College with an added competitiveness.

5. Where can I get a Team Registration form at?

We have them in our office in the Student Activity Center (old gym) or you can go online at dixie.edu/intramurals and print one out. Once you have it completed, you must turn it in at the Intramural Office with your team registration fee.

6. How much does it cost to play?

For Coed Flag Football it costs $30 a team. This money helps pay for the shirts that you can win at the end of the season!
